I have a 10 year mortgage, with the last payment due in 2009. It is almost paid it off. Payments are about $2400 a month. I recently received a statement from Citimortgage telling me the balance owed is 895.00, but I'd been charged a late payment because I did not make the $2400.00 payment! Since then I've tried reasoning with them to no avail. They are now calling me every day, and sending me letters telling me my house is going into foreclosure. My two letters to their general counsel have gone unanswered. Customer service is nasty and completely unhelpful.
